Adriana Catano is an actress and television host with over a decade of experience. She is currently working on the award winning series for Nickelodeon LatinAmerica titled “Grachi” where she plays “Cristina Esquivel” and is part of the main cast. “Grachi” season 1 was very successful and Adriana is now working on its second season for Nickelodeon LatinAmerica. Adriana recently starred in a ground-breaking independent film “Zombie Farm.” This film was shot in english and spanish making it the first indie of its kind and was released on dvd in 2011. Thanks to her clean and positive image, Adriana has been the spokesperson for Rooms to Go (largest chain of furniture stores in the U.S) for over 16 years, making it evident that she is loved and respected by hispanics in the U.S. She is totally bilingual and has worked in both the general and hispanic market making her a true cross-over talent.
Adriana has worked on several spanish language tele-novelas for Nickelodeon LatinAmerica,TVAzteca, Univision and Telemundo Network. She played the role of Jacqueline Tovar, a sexy villain in the tele-novela “Belinda” which aired in Mexico (TV Azteca), U.S and internationally. She also had much success playing “Elisa Ferrer” on the tele-novela “Secreto de Amor.” “Secreto de Amor” aired in the US (Univision) and had a large world-wide success. Due to Adriana’s undisputable beauty, charisma and talent she has shared credits with A-list actors such as Will Smith in “Bad Boys” and Eddie Murphy in “Holy Man.” She also played the role of “Julia Vargas” on the ABC series “Moon Over Miami.” Adriana had a principal role in the English Language tele-novela “Miami Sands.” This tele-novela was very successful internationally. She has had principal roles in the following tele-novelas: Grachi (both seasons), Belinda, Secreto de Amor, Morelia, MariElena, Amor Latino and Cadena Braga.
We have seen her co-host several of Univision’s tv shows such as “Despierta America” and “Viva La Familia de Todo Bebe.” She also hosted Telefutura’s “New Year’s Eve” special ( 8 hours live tv) on several occassions. She’s been a favorite guest on many of Univision’s highest rated shows such as: “El Gordo y La Flaca,” “Don Francisco Presenta,” “Primer Impacto,” “Despierta America,” and the “Cristina Show.” E Entertainment Latin America has aired several feature stories about this Colombian beauty. Adriana was the anchor and main tv host of Telemundo Networks highest rated shows such as: “Edicion Especial” and “Cinemundo.” She hosted Telemundo TV Specials of vital importance such as “Latin Billboard Awards Pre-Show and Post Show,” “Ritmo Latino Music Awards,” “Calle Ocho,” “Lo Maximo del Espiritu Latino,” “Sonidos del Milenio,” “Ms. Colombia,” and “Ritmo de Pleasure Island” among others. At the regional Emmy’s she’s been a presenter on three different occassions. She even hosted a baseball show on Fox Sports Americas titled “Fox Al Bate” which aired all over Latin America and the US where she reported all Major League Baseball events such as the All-Star Games and the World Series. Adriana interviewed Major League Baseball legends such as: Alex Rodriguez, Cal Ripken Jr, Ken Griffey Jr, Jose Canseco, Livan Hernandez and Edgar Renteria among others. NBC also included her to co-host the tv special “My People, Mi Gente.” Adriana even worked on “Sabado Gigante” for three years where she had the principal role of “Carol” the sexy neighbor in several comedy sketches. She was producer, writer and reporter for Telemundo’s “Hollywood DF” where she had the opportunity to interview A-List talent such as: Shakira, PDiddy, Enrique Iglesias, Julio Iglesias, Celia Cruz, Halle Berry, Jimmy Smitts, Luis Fonsi, and Carlos Vives among others. This raven-haired beauty recently interviewed Jamie Foxx and Steven Bauer as well.
Adriana is a household name among hispanics in the US. She has starred in over 1000 advertising campaigns world-wide such as: Coors Light, Colgate, Bud Light, Coca-Cola, Head and Shoulders, Shiseido Cosmetics, Revlon, Presidente Brandy, Cerveza Presidente, Pepsi, Tide, etc. In the past six years Adriana discovered she had a hidden talent! She is a favorite among the largest ad agencies in the US and Latin America for her voice-over abilities. Adriana has been the voice of several international campaigns such as: Gucci Guilty Perfume, Sunny D, Tylenol, Alltel Wireless, McDonald’s, Statefarm Insurance, Aveeno Cosmetics and L’Oreal among others. Adriana was born in Miami, Fl but she is extremely proud of her Colombian roots. Her perseverance and hard work led her to a successful career at a young age. She studied Broadcast Journalism at FIU. She studied all acting methods with renown acting coaches such as: Michelle Danner at the Larry Moss Acting Studio in LA, CA, Dan Chernau, Michael Gioia, Marc Durso, Sonia Nikore, John Fionte, Mel Johnson, Robbie Burns and Iris Acker.
